Our Sugar Kelp is inspired by Laminaria Saccharina, a well-known species found in cold-water coastal environments. Designed for professional aquarium use, this piece captures the long, flowing structure that makes Sugar kelp a popular choice in both natural and curated underwater landscapes.

This product is ideal for public aquariums, exhibitions, and large-scale installations where reliability and consistency are essential. Unlike live Laminaria Saccharina, this Sugar kelp requires no maintenance, no special lighting, and no ongoing care, making it a practical solution for environments where operational efficiency matters.

The design focuses on a natural look and movement, allowing the kelp to integrate seamlessly into both standalone displays and larger kelp-inspired layouts. It adds vertical structure and a soft, organic feel that enhances the overall depth of the aquarium.

As standard, the product comes with a peg mounting, making it easy to secure in rock or concrete structures. For setups that require more flexibility, it is possible to upgrade with a Rock footing allowing the kelp to be repositioned as needed.

Whether used as a subtle background element or as part of a full kelp environment, this Sugar kelp offers a durable and visually consistent alternative to real Laminaria Saccharina, without the limitations that come with live plants.

Product information

It is found in the north Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean and north Pacific Ocean. It is common along the coast of Northern Europe as far south as Spain. In North America, it is found on the East Coast down to Long Island. On the coast of Asia, it is found south to Korea and Japan.

Materials

Our kelp collection is crafted from high-quality polyfine, a soft and lightweight material designed specifically for aquatic environments. It is completely safe for all aquatic animals and contains no harmful substances.

The flexibility of polyfine allows the kelp to move naturally with the water flow, creating a realistic underwater look. At the same time, the material is durable and resistant to wear, making it ideal for both private aquariums and large public installations.

Unlike real plants, polyfine requires no maintenance, will not decay, and keeps its shape and color over time, even in saltwater environments.

Installment

The sugar kelp comes with a mounted peg for secure placement. The peg should be drilled into a rock or concrete base to ensure stability.
A set of two roots (one small and one large) is included and placed over the peg to create a natural, seamless finish.

Rock footing version (add on)
The kelp is pre-mounted on a rock base and ready to use. Simply place it in the aquarium, no drilling required.
This option allows for more flexibility, as the kelp can be moved naturally by aquatic life and water flow.
