Our Seal Proof Laminaria is inspired by Laminaria Saccharina, also known as Sugar kelp, but developed for more demanding environments. This version is produced with a thicker and more durable construction, making it ideal for installations with active animal species.
Designed specifically for public aquariums and marine facilities, this Sugar kelp is well suited for enclosures with animals such as seals, where interaction, movement, and play are part of the environment. The reinforced structure ensures that the kelp maintains its shape and performance, even with repeated contact.
Like natural Laminaria Saccharina, the design captures the long, flowing appearance of Sugar kelp, adding a realistic and organic look to the setup. At the same time, it offers the practical advantage of being completely maintenance-free, no lighting requirements, no decay, and no ongoing care.
The product comes as standard with a peg mounting for secure installation in rock or concrete structures. For setups where flexibility is needed, it can be paired with a Rock Footing, allowing easy repositioning within the enclosure.
