Rock holdfast

Create a more natural and interactive kelp aquarium with our Rock Holdfast. This weighted, natural-looking rock base is designed to work with our artificial kelp and provides a simple alternative to permanently fixing your kelp to a large rock or aquarium structure.

The Rock Holdfast is designed to mimic the function of a natural holdfast, the structure used by real kelp and marine algae to anchor themselves to rocks. Unlike a permanently mounted installation, the rock is simply placed inside the aquarium, allowing fish and other marine animals to push, move and interact with the kelp as part of their natural behaviour.

This makes the Rock Holdfast particularly suitable for active species and dynamic environments where the aquarium is intended to change and evolve through animal interaction. Your aquarium kelp can become more than decoration; it can become an active part of the underwater environment.

The Rock Holdfast can be used with several of our kelp varieties, including Giant Sea Kelp, Laminaria and other kelp-inspired designs. It is an ideal kelp holdfast for creating a more flexible and natural-looking kelp aquarium.
