Giant Sea Kelp (Root footing)

The Giant Sea Kelp Root Footing is an optional add-on designed to upgrade the look of your Giant Sea Kelp installation. It replaces the visual appearance of the standard peg base with a more natural root network finish, inspired by how giant kelp anchors itself in the wild.

To ensure the most natural proportions and proper visual balance, we recommend the following root footing sizes based on kelp length:

• Ø5 cm → Terminal Leaf and 0,75 cm

• Ø10 cm → Giant Sea Kelp up to 105 cm

• Ø15 cm → Giant Sea Kelp 135 cm and above

Choosing the correct root footing size ensures a realistic holdfast appearance and proper visual weight at the base of your installation.

The root network is mounted around the base and creates a natural holdfast appearance, similar to what you see on real giant kelp in nature. To install, simply drill a suitable hole in a rock or artificial cliff structure, insert the kelp peg as usual, and position the root footing around it for a clean, integrated finish.
